In 2020, Gergő underwent a hair transplant procedure at a clinic in Buda, but the result was a complete failure: the transplanted hairs did not survive at all, he experienced significant pain, and left with an extremely negative experience. In March 2023, he turned to the HIMG Clinic, where he was so satisfied with the outcome of his hair transplant that he decided to undergo a second procedure in december of the same year. Eleven months later, in november 2024, he returned to the clinic once again to share his experiences in an interview.
About four years ago, I finally decided to undergo my first hair transplant, but at that time I went to another clinic. The clinic was located in Buda, but unfortunately the surgery did not go well. I still don’t know exactly what they did wrong, but the final result was terrible. Only around 10–15% of the transplanted hairs survived. After that, I started researching the clinics available in Budapest much more thoroughly. I visited all the well-known clinics, and eventually I found this place as well. Here, I received the best guarantee conditions. That’s why I chose the HIMG hair transplant clinic — because they provided serious guarantees that the surgery would be successful, and if it somehow wasn’t, they still offered guarantees unlike the previous clinic where my first unsuccessful procedure was performed.
My first hair transplant here at the HIMG hair transplant clinic — which fortunately was already successful — was performed in these two front triangular areas. My hair loss pattern was such that both sides had receded very far back, while only a small patch of hair remained in the center. When I had my first hair transplant here nearly two years ago, they managed to restore hair very successfully in the front area. It was a one-day procedure, and even after that the result was already very good. However, encouraged by the success, I decided to undergo a second hair transplant because I wanted an even better result. I wanted to regain my original hairline around my forehead. Since my hairline had receded very significantly, the first surgery alone could not lower the hairline as much as where it is now. After the first procedure, a few weak hairs still remained growing in the front, especially in the middle area, which would have looked a bit strange if untreated. I had to shave those remaining hairs because behind them, in the transplanted area, I already had thick and dense hair that I could style nicely, while those few weak hairs in front had to be shaved. The second surgery took place in december 2023, and during that procedure I wanted the hairline lowered further to restore my original hairline. This also allowed the remaining original hairs to add density to the transplanted hairs placed from the donor area. After the first surgery, I still had to style my hair carefully to emphasize the new dense hair in the front and somehow hide the remaining areas behind it. I had to comb my hair strategically. But after the results of the second procedure, I can now style my hair forward, backward, or sideways. Basically, I now have hair from every angle. It’s much more comfortable, and I’ve regained something very close to my original appearance from my twenties.
I feel fantastic. My hair loss bothered me tremendously. My friends, wife, family, and siblings all gave me a lot of positive feedback about how good it looks that I have hair again. And for me personally, every morning when I look in the mirror — or not even just that, but simply being able to run my fingers through my hair again or style it — means a lot. Playing with or adjusting my hair used to be almost like an unconscious habit for me before I lost it. Being able to do that again feels emotionally amazing. I feel masculine again and much more confident.
Maybe one day in the future — in five or ten years, who knows. If the hair at the back continues thinning and it becomes visually disturbing or inconvenient in everyday life, then perhaps I would consider another procedure. For example, if the transplanted area in the front remained dense but the untreated areas behind it became bald, that would look strange. In that case, it would need to be corrected somehow, and I would absolutely be willing to undergo another hair transplant.
In real life and everyday situations, I’m not ashamed that I had a hair transplant. If someone asks, I openly talk about it, and I regularly recommend the clinic to friends and acquaintances. In fact, one of my friends underwent a one-day hair transplant procedure here a few months ago, and I’m really happy that I could recommend such a good clinic to him. They solved his hair loss problems as well, and just like me, he is extremely satisfied with the result.
